Disc Golf, Heee-Heee

As I was leaving work tonight I was surprised to see young professionals in my company playing disc golf out on our campus lawn. Being a fan of the sport myself, I stepped outside to see what was going on. It turned out to be a Newcomer's Club sponsored event, complete with free discs stamped with a picture of the Doughboy from Gotta Go Gotta Throw.

I played a couple rounds, and was impressed by two things:
  1. the layout of the course. It was actually pretty good.
  2. the quality of the grass that blankets our campus. I'm talking top notch stuff. I think we should get into the sod business or something, because it was plush. I'm sure having a perfectly manicured green space adds shareholder value, right?

Tell me more about the grass. Is it a hybrid, a cross between Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia? I have heard that amazing stuff about that grass is that you can play 36 disk golf holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff. I should know, I've got pounds of that stuff.

How many holes do they have on the campus there? Were you able to snag some of the discs? I only played twice this summer.

Nice work Carl.

They put up 9 temporary pins -- one a little too close to the pond if you ask me, considering the group's collective skills (or lack thereof).

By the time I left there was one new-hire wading in the pond, pants pulled up past his knees. I'm sure there were some onlookers wondering what the heck he was doing...

I did get to snag both a driver and a putter. Quality discs too.
